Pizza is pretty much an American staple these days. It's simple, doesn't really require utensils, and easily customizable. Unfortunately, unless you live in or near one of the pizza Meccas, you'll probably be eating either chain pizza, frozen pizza, or something from a local restaurant that just isn't as delicious.
Unfortunately, homemade pizza can be difficult to make. It doesn't have to be, however. Here are some suggestions to help make pizza preparation easy!
To help prevent pizza dough from sticking to everything and to give yourself the crispiest crust possible, dust your pizza peel or what you are preparing/cooking the pizza on with cornmeal for a slightly more crunchy crust.
We've mentioned this before, but to get a fantastic shape to your pizza dough, and to shape it best, stretch it out over a mixing bowl turned upside down. Another solution to evenly shape the pizza is to press the dough into an 8-inch round, then drape half the dough over the counter. Lift half the dough off with your hand, then rotate the dough clockwise to use gravity to stretch it.
A great option to make pizza easier to to create a large batch of dough then freeze some for later. In general, you should freeze the dough after it's risen. The freezer can kill off some of the yeast strands essential to a good, fluffy dough. To defrost, just let it sit on your counter-top for a few hours or overnight in the fridge.
